Adil Rami weighed in with a double as Valencia coasted into the Europa League last four courtesy of a 4-0 home drubbing of AZ Alkmaar in a one-sided quarter-final second leg at the Mestalla.
Central defender Rami missed his side’s surprise 2-1 defeat to AZ in the first leg in the Netherlands due to suspension, but returned in some style as Unai Emery’s side coasted through with a 5-2 aggregate win.
AZ simply could not cope with the home team’s movement and were undone by their inability to deal with numerous cross balls.
