Reports are out claiming that Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini hopes they’re not the sole Premier League survivors in the Champions League next week.
City are the only Premier League team to have so far qualified for the knockout stages of Europe’s elite competition ahead of their final tie against Borussia Monchengladbach at The Etihad on Tuesday night.
Pellegrini said: “It would be very bad for the Premier League for Chelsea, Arsenal and United to be eliminated.
“I hope they go through. Without the Champions League they would have more options in the Premier League, so it’s important for our league.
“It’s also vital for the Champions League because these are very strong clubs who have the best players, along with the Spanish teams, Bayern and PSG.”
